We see a future in Bangladesh
without water crisis.
Supporting 5 million people with safe drinking water
Water for Cambodia builds and installs biosand water filters, household units that produce clean drinking water directly from contaminated sources. These cost-effective filters are built by our staff in Cambodia using local materials. Since 2006 we have installed over 30,000 filters in households and schools bringing clean water to more than 150,000 people. Our nationally recognized water testing laboratory regularly monitors installations for quality and safety.
Over the past 5 years we have added a comprehensive WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Training) approach, partnering with villages and schools to build latrines and reliable wells and supporting hygiene education.
UNICEF statistics reports that as many as one third of Cambodians use water from an unimproved source. Access to clean water provides an important pathway to better health, regular school attendance, and improved quality of life for families. Water for Cambodia is helping to meet the challenge of safe drinking water for all.

About Us
Max TapWater connects households to easy and safe water at an affordable price through piped water grids. We are a safe water social enterprise, established in 2019. So far, we have built 100 Max TapWater grids, which are supplying safe water to 8,000 households. Each year we continue to build more grids and connect more households.
Our grids are not technically complicated. They are quite simple and materials are locally sourced. The innovation is the entrepreneurial model that works in small clusters of households and with a local entrepreneur who can co-invest.
We have developed our solution by learning from test sites across the country. We learned that people are willing to pay for piped water at home. A business approach therefore works better. Our small-scale grids of around 75 households are financially the most attractive.
Our
Vision
Access to safe water in Cambodia is a major challenge for the majority of the population. According to UN and UNICEF data, 80% of rural households in Cambodia lack access to a safely managed water supply. The situation in schools is also serious, with 14% of schools lacking a basic water service and 23% lacking access to sanitation of any kind.

Why piped water delivered at home?
01
Research shows that piped water improves health.
02
It is more convenient as it reduces the burden of water collection, which is overwhelmingly done by women and girls.
03
To bring Bangladesh to the final step on the SDG water ladder: ‘safely managed drinking water’ – located on premises, available when needed and free from contamination
